Celtic Knot Men Large Stamped Chain

The Celtic knots had their origin in Roman times, in the late 3rd Century and can be seen in Roman floor mosaics of that time.  Perhaps reflecting the intricacy of Natural forms through human hands, there has been no known associated symbolism of this knot.  Still, it has been used extensively in ornamentation of Christian documents and monuments, most particularly in the Celtic lands of Ireland.

This Celtic Knot is made of hand carved bone from Indonesia.  The 18 inch chain is hand made and hand stamped silver from northern Thailand and is 98% pure fine silver. Closes with a large sterling silver lobster clasp.
